Mydobe's Aurora Borealis CGC
Thea has had the following health tests:
Sep 2004 - von Willebrand's Disease (vWD) - Genotypically clear
Feb 2005 - Dilated Cardiomyopathy - Echocardiogram clear; Holter test no VPCs (tests performed by a board-certified cardiologist)
Mar 2005 - Canine Eye Registry Foundation (CERF) - Normal
Apr 2005 - OFA hips - Good
Apr 2005 - OFA elbows - Normal
Apr 2005 - Thyroid function - [Awaiting results] |
Thea was also genetically tested to see whether she can produce red puppies, and she does have the gene for that. I won't know if she has the dilution factor (to produce fawn and blue puppies) until and unless she is bred to a dog that ALSO carries it. Chances are good that she does not carry dilution, but a "rainbow litter" would certainly be fun!
All test results may be viewed on the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals website (www.offa.org.) I believe in "test and tell," regardless of the outcome of the tests. To see Thea's results, go to http://www.offa.org/display.html?appnum=1125828#animal.
