All dogs in the CLARiiON household are fed a raw diet.  Some people call this the BARF diet; the acronym BARF is either "Biologically Appropriate Raw Food" or "Bones And Raw Food."  Either way, the diet consists of raw muscle and organ meat, bones, vegetables, and a few dietary supplements.

Both Taylor and Thea are very healthy, and weight management is not an issue.  Their feedings are as follows

bullet

Thea AM:

3/4+ lb. Bravo beef, turkey, lamb or chicken blend (http://www.bravorawdiet.com/productdetail.html#blends)

1 Tbsp+ raw pumpkin (helps regulate digestion)

1 Tbsp+ pureed raw green vegetables

3/4 oz. FidoNutrients (http://www.liquidhealthinc.com/prodInterior.php?prodID=34)

1 capsule 3V Caps Skin Formula for Large and Giant Breeds (http://3vcaps.com/)

To summarize, both girls get about 1 1/4 pound of meat daily.  Thea gets a little more, Taylor gets a little less.  They have fresh vegetables every day, and I often add cottage cheese or yogurt to their meals.  Once or twice a week they have organ meat as a meal - primarily beef or buffalo heart.  Heart muscle is very high in Taurine and Carnitine, which are two of the amino acids that contribute to a healthy heart.  I sometimes feed them chicken backs (outside the house.)  They eat everything - meat and bones - and seem to really enjoy the extra effort involved in "attacking" their meals.

The girls also receive "treat bones" occasionally - large, fresh-frozen beef bones that still have the marrow inside.  These are an "outside" treat, as they can be quite messy, but the girls absolutely LOVE them.  They will spend hours trying to get the marrow out, and they will chew on the bone itself, as well.  This keeps their teeth exceptionally clean - neither of them has had a dental teeth-cleaning in years, because it simply isn't necessary.
